She had no idea what she was searching for. Her mind wandered elsewhere whenever she thought of work. Work had never been a problem for her, so why now? This was the question bubbling up inside her mind. What was the problem? Or was there none and she was simply overthinking? But wait, no, that couldn’t be. There had to be a problem. She was experiencing mixed feelings; anxiety, apprehension, horror, unease, agitation, perturbation. There had to be something. “Something’s definitely wrong”, she thought, “but what?” Above all, she was unable to decide whether or not should she discuss this with anyone.
Thoughtfully, she stood up from her bed, pushing off the blanket. “What was it and where was this stemming from?” She had to find an answer. There was no other way out. She could ask for help but she did not trust anyone enough to tell them her darkest secrets. She went to the kitchen to fix a cup of coffee and a cheese omelette for herself. As she entered the kitchen, she heard a screeching noise. “Must be a mouse,” she thought. Suddenly, the sound increased, everything went blank and she passed out.
With no recollection of what had happened, she woke up, and found herself lying, wrapped in bandages, on a hospital bed. “What happened?” she thought. The screeching sound crossed her mind but nothing more than that she could remember. Frantically, she started looking around, searching for the person who brought her here. There was no one in sight. Thereafter, a nurse came into view and she stopped her to ask that who brought her here. She tried to speak but realized that she couldn’t! “What? What’s wrong?” Horror griped her like never before. she thought going berserk. She realized that she was moving her hands, wildly, in the air. Hysterically, she tried to get up, but to her dismay, she couldn’t. She stopped trying and lay motionless in the bed. The nurse bent down and said something but she didn’t hear it. “What has happened to me?” was the only question wandering in her terror-stricken mind.
